Textile instruments can be mainly categorized into fiber testing instruments, yarn testing instruments, fabric testing instruments, dyeing and finishing testing instruments, general-purpose testing instruments, and other specialized testing instruments based on their testing objects and application fields. Fiber testing instruments are used to test various physical and chemical properties of fibers, such as fiber fineness testers, fiber strength testers, fiber length analyzers, fiber maturity testers, cotton nip and impurity detectors, single fiber testing systems, cotton fiber airflow meters, raw cotton impurity analyzers, and raw cotton moisture meters. Yarn testing instruments are used to test various indicators of yarn, such as yarn length measuring machines, evenness testers, yarn twisting machines, single yarn strength testers, yarn defect testers, yarn moisture meters, hairiness testers, and yarn shaking machines. Fabric testing instruments are used to test the physical properties, durability, and appearance of fabrics. Examples include electronic fabric strength testers, drop-weight fabric tear testers, fabric abrasion testers, pilling testers, fabric wrinkle elasticity testers, fabric density microscopes, thickness gauges, shrinkage testers, automatic fabric stiffness testers, and dry cleaning testers. Among these, the sweating and warming mannequin testing system, as the first instrument in China used to evaluate the overall thermal and moisture comfort performance of garments, represents cutting-edge technology in this field. Dyeing and printing testing instruments are used to test the color, color fastness, and related properties of textiles during the dyeing and printing process. Examples include color fastness meters, color charts, color detectors, and light source boxes. General-purpose testing instruments are basic equipment used in multiple testing stages, such as ovens, balances, water bath shakers, moisture permeability test chambers, disc samplers, temperature monitoring devices, and stroboscopes. Other specialized testing instruments are designed for specific products or functions, such as testing instruments for protective clothing, masks, down products, footwear, geotextiles, and the YG982VB apparel grading system.
Modern textile testing technology is developing towards high automation, multi-functional integration, networking, and intelligence, with the application of non-destructive testing technologies (such as X-ray, ultrasonic, and infrared) becoming increasingly widespread.
